BIRDS

On December 5, 2023, in collaboration with the Grand Karat Hotel (Hyatt Regency) in Sochi, the Birds exhibition was opened.

 

"In the New Year's Eve, in anticipation of a miracle, I go to the Grand Carat to look at the Birds.

The Melody of Weightlessness seems to dissolve the space around me. In the magical timelessness between inhaling and exhaling, I make a wish. The Sounds Giving Birth to Color awaken a demiurge in me, I tell myself; "Believe me And the Morning Will Be back In the Garden of Eden. Art is what fills my life with meanings. Igor's art is something that fills me with energy, connects me with myself, with an inexplicable miracle and the gift of life",  Elena Venskaya, curator of the exhibition.

Igor Vensky: "For me, birds have always been a symbol of freedom. This year, they began to appear more and more often in my space in dreams and in reality. Together with them, I experienced the feeling of flying again. I share my sensations and associations of my experience in the series Birds."

We invite you to watch Igor Venskiy's Birds in the lounge area of the 2nd floor of the hotel.

The exhibition features 8 canvases. In total, Igor created more than 20 canvases of large and small sizes in 2023

COSMOLOGY OF IGOR VENSKIY

On March 7, 2023, the D.D. Zhilinsky Sochi Art Museum hosted the Opening of Igor Vienskiy's Solo Show Cosmology.

​

In Cosmology, Igor Venskiy explores philosophical questions of human perception, questions of the world order in the interrelation of space and man, redirecting the "cosmism of the Russian avant-garde" into human.

​

 

There are two variants of the exposition on our website.

ABSTRACT WORLD OF FLOWERS ONLINE SHOW

An online version of the Abstract World of Flowers show is posted on the artist's YouTube channel. The online exhibition invites you on a journey along a trajectory created through the eyes of the exhibition curator.

Exhibition curator Elena Venskaya:

On the Other Side of the Moon, 5 Galaxies in the Ocean of Infinity, Reflection of the Suns in the Moonlight...
Abstract concepts and abstract images draw the viewer's attention to other worlds that exist independently of knowledge about them.
Layers of colors and unearthly textures, play of color and a sliding light source, pull out of everyday life. 
Running away from the intolerable subjectivism of social existence, the artist returns to the origins of himself. Illusion at the Center of Existence dissipates, turning into Perfection of Primordial Chaos ..., reaches ... the point of non-existence.
Not to get lost in the Labyrinths of Dreams, the author lines the bridge from the likeness of flowers and fragments of vases. The bridge connects the abstract world with the physical world. 
The viewer of the Abstract World of Flowers exhibition can safely move across the bridge from the known to the unknown, and back.
"Beauty alone will not save the world, awareness of beauty is a guarantee of peace", Igor Venskiy.

A New Solo Show Opening | Opening of a new exhibition

ABSTRACT WORLD OF FLOWERS

by Igor Venskiy opens on September 30, 2022 in RAMT Rostov.

The contemporary art exhibition presents 21 works.

All pieces were created in the oil on canvas technique in 2022.

Igor Venskiy:
"When I work, I never think about the real shape of the image. I follow an inner feeling. music in the images of color spots that create a certain rhythm. This is how the creative process begins: Dance-meditation, where the brush and paints continue the movements of my hands. a very long time, I always use flower petals as a kind of anchor of the physical, manifested world. We can say that all the works of the World of Flowers create a Bridge between the worlds, the physical and the abstract"

The exposition will continue its work until June 2023.

THE BEGINNING

We published a new online show on Igor Venskiy's channel on YouTube.

The Beginning exhibition is a retrospective of the creative activity of Igor Venskiy. 33 works of art, presented in a free chronological order, follow the logic of the artistic language transformation, and tell about several stages in the artist's life.

​

“This online exhibition is an opportunity to thank my parents, teachers, people who played a role in my fate.
I thank my parents, Lidia Vasilyevna and Alexey Vasilyevich, for giving me life and support. And at one time they listened to my grandfather Vasily Ivanovich, thanks to whose advice I received an art education.
I thank all my teachers at the Lunacharsky Art School. The Krasnodar School of Painting played an important role in my painting approach.
Rostov Courtyards and portraits of people once close to me reflect my gratitude to the people and the city in which I first gained independence.
The Beginning dotted line connects important stages on my creative path. The exhibition includes both works from the early period of creativity and those created at a more mature stage. Several recent works painted this year continue my original desire for beauty and harmony.” Igor Venskiy

SELECTED WORKS

The Solo Show on the eve of the anniversary of Igor Venskiy's creative activity.

The Selected Works Show was opened, along with the theater season in the Rostov on Don Academic Youth Theater, on October 8, 2021.


“It was difficult for Igor and me to make a choice among hundreds of works of art for the exhibition. We decided on works which Igor painted during his creative activity in Rostov, and added to the collection 
paintings created in Sochi. There are 26 pieces of art represented at the Show.”

CONNECTION OF TIMES

Continuation of the exhibition cycle Portrait of Sochi.

The ​Opening of the Portrait of Sochi. The Connection of Times Show took place at the Zimniy Theater, on March 24, 2021.

The audience was presented with a collection of 33 paintings by the artist Igor Venskiy. Among them are 18 new landscape and genre works, several flower compositions and 9 portraits.

Igor created most of them in 2020. The 2020 Series is the artist's statement and reflections of pandemic.

The author does not paint protective masks on people. Igor Venskiy depicts his experiences of self-isolation and quarantine through landscapes of deserted and desolate streets.

During the Show Opening Igor Venskiy held a master class on painting for novice artists.

​

THE SEA = LIFE

The first solo show by Igor Venskiy after lockdown 2020 opened in RAMT.


“At the exhibition, we tried to create an atmosphere in which the audience could come into contact with the sea. Seascapes are painted in the best traditions of the Russian realistic school. Igor was inspired by the landscapes of Aivazovsky and Levitan. When not only the external, but also the internal emotional state and sensations from the presence on the sea coast are conveyed.”

A surprise for the guests was the opportunity to create a collective picture. Everyone could express themselves on canvas. The master made his finishing touches to the collective work of art.
 

IGOR VENSKIY'S THEATER

The Opening of a new exhibition space Heritage took place in Rosa Khutor, on December 12, 2019.


Igor Venskiy's Theater cooperation with Flamenco Band and the exhibition center Heritage gave a lot of positive emotions to the spectators of the immersive show.
 

STUDIO V MUSEUM OPENING

The official opening of the Museum – Studio “V”  took place 13 December 2018.
The building of the old railway station Adler begins its work as a socio-cultural platform. 
The mission, which is to combine the modern creative process in development and the historical heritage of Sochi and world art.
Among the invited guests are city officials, businessmen, culture and art figures , a special guest - Honored Artist of the Russia Elena Proklova.
